Obituary of Laura Christine Strong
Laura Christine Strong, 68, of Greeley passed away at UCHealth Greeley Hospital on Monday, July 18, 2022. She was born December 20, 1953 in Denver to Lauren O. and Maurine (Gilbert) Summers.
At the age of five, Laura’s family moved to Greeley where she grew up and attended schools. She graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1972 and furthered her education by earning an Associate degree from AIMS Community College.
On July 13, 1974, she married Jimmy Stewart Strong at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Most recently, Laura worked for the office in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Prior to that, she worked in the office of Continuing Education at AIMS community college. She served multiple roles in the office, supporting a number of programs and student needs. She also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and trainer for over 30 years.
Laura, an avid Genealogist, dedicated herself to preserving family history and uncovering untold stories. She had a cherished collection of angels, and was a member of ASCAR and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Thankful to have shared her life are her husband, Jim, daughters; Kathleen (Marlin) Mohrlang and Gwyndolynn Strong, three grandchildren; David, Mitchell and Chloe, siblings; Eileen (Peter) LaRose and Roy (Nancy Wingo) Summers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Laura’s Life Celebration will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 22 at Adamson. Cremation will follow the service and interment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
