Obituary of Gerald Joseph Moran

Gerald "Gerry” Joseph Moran, Jr. 64, of Platteville, died Friday, October 29, 2021 unexpectedly at his home. He was born March 5, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska to Joan (Rosschaert) and Gerald "Jerry” Moran, Sr. In 1971, the family moved to Colorado and he graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1976. On September 25, 1982, he married the love of his life, Teresa Mae Gutfelder at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley. Gerry worked as a master carpenter and woodworker for 44 years, first with Flint Construction, as a sub-contractor with KEM Homes, later was self-employed and most recently worked as a delivery driver for Warehouse Supply. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking, photography and the most important, his family. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, attending all of their sporting events and activities. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan and loved old Western shows and movies. He served as a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America Troop #54 and a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Windsor. Thankful to have shared Gerry’s life are his wife, Teresa, children; Brian (Liz) Moran, Sarah (Travis) Drinkwine, Jesse (Jeffrey) Quinlin and Shaun Moran, 5 grandchildren; Cord and Arbor Moran, Aubrey Drinkwine and Baby Drinkwine joining them soon, Declan and McKenna Quinlin, his mother, Joan Moran and his siblings; Steve (Jane Buckman) Moran, Patti (Kevin) Schwindt, Colleen Moran and Bill Moran as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, grandchild Leaf Alder Moran, sister Mary Lynn Moran and nephew Matthew Walling. The family will receive visitation from friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Adamson. Gerry’s Life Celebration will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Adamson with a reception to follow. You are encouraged to wear your Bronco gear or dress casually to celebrate Gerry’s life.
