Andy Reichert posted a condolence
Susan, Carolyn, and Sharon,
I received word the day after Ed's passing from my Dad. Aunt LaVerne called while my Dad and I were chatting on the phone and later he called me back and shared that LaVerne called him right away. My heart goes out to you and your kids and grandkids. Over the years when I visited with your Dad, who to me was always my Uncle Ed, I was always impressed by how dearly he held each of his three daughters and your husbands in the highest regard. No doubt you were his lifelong pride and joy. Ed was always kind and talkative to me and had a drive in life to understand and to be understood. He was a good uncle to me and I always enjoyed the times I spent with him first as a kid then later in my adulthood. I live now in Michigan and wasn't able to make it home to Colorado in time for the funeral and visitation. For that I am truly sad, I was there in thought. It is always hard to see a parent/grandparent pass. Ed's service in the Army along with Uncle Don and my Dad in the Army National Guard were inspiration for me to serve in the Army Reserve. Like Ed I am a VFW Life Member and will be making a contribution to Ed's VFW Post there in his honor. Ed's life mattered and he loved his family, his God, and his country and community. I am happy to bear the same last name as he. Andy
