Obituary of Maria Elena Garcia

Maria Elena Garcia, 81, of LaSalle passed away December 3, 2021 in Greeley. She was born February 25, 1940 in Anson, TX to Marcelino and Clotilde (Rivera) Rios. At a young age, her family moved to Colorado. She graduated from West High School in Denver and in May 1959, she married Faustino Garcia in Bay City, TX. Maria worked as a cook at Bonell, NCMC and Fairacres before retiring. She loved Tejano music, dancing, flower gardening and arranging, cooking, and most enjoyed time with her family at dinners and parties. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Eagles Club of LaSalle. She is survived by her children; Domingo (Brenda Buderus) Garcia, Faustino Garcia, Jr., Lucia (Eric) Hubbard, David Rios Garcia, Julian Rios Garcia and Ruben Rios (Sandra) Garcia, 19 grandchildren; Domingo Charles Garcia Jr., Nicole Marie Garcia, Natalie Ann Garcia, Diane "Gup” Garcia, Faustino "Wook” Garcia Jr., Ronnie "Budda” Lopez, Dwan Allard, Justine Garcia, Jeremy Espinoza, Joseph Espinoza, Monica Espinoza, Eternity Faith Frausto, Jonah Orion Garcia, David Garcia Jr., Celestino Garcia, Dana Ann Camacho, Isaac Hernandez, Jacob Garcia and Ruben Garcia Jr., numerous great and great, great-grandchildren, siblings; Frank, Leonardo and Martin Rios, Juana DeLaFuente and Amelia Rios. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her grandsons David Lee Garcia and Matthew Lee Garcia, her siblings; Lillie Rizo, Domingo, Jovito, Alfredo, Marcelino, Alvino and Albino. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 9 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Life Celebration 10 a.m. Friday, December 10 at Unity in Christ Church, 1501 5th Street, Greeley.
