Obituary of Richard Sherman Harris

Richard Sherman Harris was born in Severance, Colorado on November 11, 1943 and passed away in Greeley, Colorado on December 27, 2021. Richard joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam war servicing decoding machines in Europe. His technical knowledge led him to a career as a technician on various electronics, including computers. Richard married Sharon Kirkpatrick in 1975, adopting her son, Sean Christian, into his family. They had three more children, Robyn Alyson, Megan Nicole, and Patrick Richard. As a father he was an active Scoutmaster, Den leader, and baseball and softball coach. Richard was an avid collector of trivia, jokes, and interesting paraphernalia from history. He traveled often and loved taking pictures of the historical sites that he would encounter. After his retirement, Richard began selling second-hand items and antiques. He was very active in tracing the genealogical lines of his family. Richard loved old movies, the television show MASH, and the beauty of nature. He always had plants or gardens. Richard loved animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Alonzo Harris and Ruth Hinkle Harris, and his younger brother, David. He is survived by his four children, three grandchildren, his older brother Jerry, and several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
