Obituary of Alfred Louis Beam

Alfred “Al” Louis Beam, 74, of Johnstown passed away on January 18, 2022 due to an automobile accident. He was born April 8, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Fred Justis and Mary (Wooten) Beam.

He grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma and was in the first graduating class of Carl Albert High School in 1965. During high school, Al was an accomplished athlete who played football, basketball, and baseball. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He returned to Oklahoma and attended Rose State College, Central State, and the University of Oklahoma.

On December 9, 1972, he married Judith Ann Coburn in Oklahoma. They would have been married 50 years in December.

Al worked in sales and marketing for most of his life. He sold equipment for meat processing companies and worked in marketing for Wilson Foods, Farm Fresh, Holly Farms, and other companies over the course of his career. In retirement, he was working for Wal-Mart as a security greeter.

Al enjoyed reading, sports, and singing. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Johnstown, and served in many leadership positions with the church over the years.

Those thankful to have shared his life include his wife, Judy; children, Thomas Serold, Aaron (Victoria) Beam, Sarah (Collin) Richardson, Amy (Demetrese) Dandridge, and Jonathan (Elizabeth) Beam; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Ed (Sharon) Beam.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve.
