Obituary of Melissa Ann Bradfield

Melissa Ann Bradfield, 54, passed away Wednesday, January 26^th, 2022 in Greeley CO. Melissa was born to Walter A. Hein and Mary Ellen Grant on April 20^th, 1967 in Quinter, Kansas. Melissa grew up in Grainfield, KS as the youngest of 13 children. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1985 and then went on to attend nursing school in Garden City, KS. It was in Garden City that Melissa and Greg Bradfield met. The pair moved to Greeley in 1994 where they made their home. Melissa was a registered nurse for over 30 years, and worked at NCMC in Greeley for about 25 of those years. She took pride in her work and felt nothing but passion and love for all of the patients she cared for throughout the years.

In addition to being a caring nurse, Melissa was also an amazing mother and wife. She enjoyed taking trips with her family to the mountains where they could go camping, hiking and fishing. She was fond of the beautiful scenery found in the Colorado mountains and would visit Poudre Canyon or Rocky Mountain National Park for a quick hike or scenic drive as often as she could, especially in the fall when the aspens changed colors. She also enjoyed photography, reading, and working on puzzles for fun. Occasionally, she would take trips to different parts of the world. She was especially fond of her travels around Australia, her favorite place being Tasmania.

Melissa is survived by her husband Greg Bradfield; her children Austin Bradfield and Alexis Bradfield;  her siblings Kate Schmidtberger, Rick Hein, Judy Ranson, Terry Hein, Steve Hein, Dave Hein, Jeanne Wilkins, Cindy McMillin, Mark Hein, Tammy Archer, and Rene Johnson, as well as many other friends, family, and former patients .

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter A. Hein and Mary Ellen Grant, and her sister Denise Scott.
