Obituary of Rose Marie Bowles

Rose Marie Bowles, 88, of Greeley, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022.  She was born September 15, 1933 in Greeley to Auzy and Alice (Beisner) Bowles.

The family lived in Fort Lupton where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1951.  She moved to Denver for a few years before leaving for California.  After returning from California, she lived in Ft. Lupton for many years before moving to Denver after retiring.  She later moved to Greeley to be closer to family. 

Rose served as the first female U.S. Postal carrier in Ft. Lupton and then worked as the City Administrator with the City of Ft. Lupton until she retired.  She also worked in real estate and assisted with Income Taxes throughout the years. 

She loved to go fishing, hunting, golfing and played short stop in Triple A Fast-Pitch softball.  She treasured her dogs over the years as well as her family and the Colorado Rockies. 

Thankful to have shared her life include her siblings; Kathleen Armijo, Saundra (Adam) Dechant and Gary (Janie) Bowles as well as nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Angie (Tony) Cooper and nephew, Mark (Angela) Dechant and a very dear friend, Molly Ryan. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Keith Bowles, Loretta Chamberlain and Ruth Rossman. 

Rose’s family will host a celebration of her life at a picnic gathering to be announced at a later date.  Private family inurnment will be held at the Fort Lupton Cemetery.  Memorial gifts may be made to “Weld County Humane Society” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.  Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
