Obituary of Jess Willard Durrance

Jess Willard (Jay Bird) Durrance SR. was called home by our Lord on May 12th, 2022. 

Jay was born in Bradenton Flordia to Robert David and Rose Jane (Davis) Durrance on July 23rd, 1956. He grew up in Punta Gorda Flordia and graduated High School in Port Charlotte Flordia. He met Mary Bonifay (Johnson) Durrance in Arcadia Flordia in 1977. He later went on to become a professional truck driver until he retired in 2018. 

Jay loved the Miami Dolphines and watched football every chance he got. He was a big StarTrek fan and was crazy about anything John Wayne. He enjoyed building bird houses with his family but his favorite activity was going to Walmart and hanging out with his sidekick, JoJo his miniture pincher. His loved ones remember his jokes and singing all of his favorite 60's and 70's music. 

Jay is survived by his wife of 45 years Mary, his children Mary Shauna Rose Durrance, Robert David Durrance, and Joyce Marie Durrance all of Greeley. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ciara Leilani Esteron, Nichole Johns, Damien Durrance, Robert & Tyler Durrance, Mathew Mitchelle, Christian Mitchelle, Kelly Brock. He also is survived by 9 great grandchildren. As well as his 3 brothers, Ronald David, Steve, and Keith Durrance, one sister named Kara Lynn Whidden and their respective spouses. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest son Jess W Durrance Junior. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Adamson Life Celebration Home on May 19th, 2022 with the visitation from 2-3 PM and a service following from 3-4 PM.
