Obituary of Mildred Fern Slonksnes
Mildred passed away May 12, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society in Loveland. She was born June 25, 1927 to Alva and
Zella (Cecil) Wilson in Deepwater, Missouri.
The family moved to Denver and then to a farm east of Galeton where Mildred lived until she married Adam Slonksnes Sr.
on December 14, 1945. Adam and Mildred farmed several places in Weld County. She worked on the farm until they
moved to Greeley where she had several jobs, including working for Joslins until they moved to the mall. She then drove
school bus for District 6 until she retired.
Mildred spoiled the family with her wonderful cooking. She loved Bingo and playing slot machines in Black Hawk and
Laughlin, Nevada. Another joy were angels and her dolls and she had collected close to a thousand of them. She liked
camping and snowmobiling and loved Pekinese dogs and always had one until just before moving to the nursing home.
She enjoyed cruises and went on several with family.
Mildred is survived by her children Joanne and husband Chris Tilley, Kathleen and husband Darrell Drewer, Adam Jr. and
wife Kim, sisters Letha Crom, Mary Ann Croissant, Lorene and husband Chuck Achziger, sister-in-laws Ruth Wilson,
Giny Wilson, Rose Slonksnes and numerous grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents Alva and Zella Wilson, husband Adam Sr, brothers Lindsey and Wilbur
Wilson, brother-in-laws Leon Crom, Milton Croissant, Tony Slonksnes, John Slonksnes, Tom Starosielec, sister-in-laws
Darlene Slonksnes, Lydia Slonksnes and Helen Starosielec and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service is planned for Monday May 23, 12:00 P.M. at Adamson Funeral Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley.
Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. the day of the service. Internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The reception will be held at Adamson Life Celebration Home from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
