Obituary of Violet Mary Kobobel
Violet Mary Kobobel, 97 years old, passed away peacefully in her home on August 25, 2022. She was born December 31, 1924, to Susan (Miller) and Rhinehart Knaus in Windsor, CO.
Violet grew up in the Northern Colorado Area. During WW2, she and one of her sisters, Mariam, worked on the family farm growing sugar beets while their brothers were in the armed services.
Violet experienced several professions throughout her life. In her younger years she worked at a beanery, sacking beans, and then worked at Bailey’s as a seamstress. She spent most of her working career as a meat wrapper for Safeway, then Gordon’s Food Liner and finally Albertsons.
In addition to being a hard worker, Violet was a loving mother and avid fiction reader. She carried on her family’s German traditions, especially through the food she prepared. When her health permitted, she faithfully attended church.
She is survived by her son Leon Kobobel of Greeley, CO, and her daughter Janet Grant of Santa Rosa, CA.
Violet is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Kobobel, her parents Susan and Rhinehart Knaus, and her three brothers and five sisters.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Evans City Cemetery.
The family asks that donations be made to the Greeley Senior Center in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home; 2000 W 47th Avenue, Greeley CO 80634.
