Obituary of Brian Edward Smith

Brian Edward Smith, 50, of Greeley passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2022 at his family home.  He was born June 9, 1972 in Odessa, TX to Walter Lloyd and Rebecca Ruth (Kinsey) Smith, Jr. where he was raised until his teenage years.  The family moved to Sweetwater, TX where Brian graduated from high school in 1991.

After graduation, Brian enlisted in the US Navy, serving honorably aboard the USS America as an Aviation Safety Specialist.  After service, he moved back to Texas working as an auto glass technician for 20 years in the DFW Metroplex. 

Brian moved with his sister, April, and her family to Colorado in 2017 and worked as a Parts Specialist with 4Rivers Equipment in Greeley. 

He was an avid 2nd Amendment supporter, loved his firearms, the American flag, and all that was red, white and blue. Brian was an avid reader.  Along with April and her family, he was fortunate to enjoy attending concerts, the opera, and travelling on road trips to visit National Parks throughout the country.  He was very family focused and loved time with his nephew, Adrian Jr.

Thankful to have shared his life are his mother, Becky Smith; father, Walter Smith; sister, April (Adrian) Sdano and their son, Adrian Jr.; and brother, Kevin (Michelle) Smith and family as well as his two cats, Mia and Collin. 

Brian’s Life Celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Adamson with a reception to follow.  Memorial gifts may be made to “Weld County Humane Society” in care of Adamson, 2000 47^th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.  Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
