Andersen family, I am sorry to hear of Kennie's passing. I had a nice talk with him just a few weeks ago in the warehouse. I was first introduced to Kennie almost forty years ago by my dad. Kennie bought several trucks from my dad when he worked at the Ford dealer. My dad told me he used to drop in and see Kennie at the salvage yard just to talk or when he needed some advice on something that was troubling him. Kennie was a wise man and a good listener. He really made an impression on my dad. I got to know Kennie better when he would donate blood at NCMC. I made sure I was the one who drew Kennie's blood so I could visit at length with him. Over the years I kept in touch with him when I regularly dropped off scrap or was at the yard for fire department training. When my son was a little boy, Kennie gave him one of his model planes he built. To this day, my 20-year old son still has Kennie's plane hanging from the ceiling in his room. Kennie was a wonderful person and one of those unsung heroes of Greeley. The details of his life will live on in his book, but he will be missed. Sincerely, John Fagerberg
