Mindy Vizcaino-Williams

Obituary of Mindy Vizcaino-Williams

It is with great sadness that the family of “Mindy” Vizcaíno Williams announces her peaceful passing after a long battle with cancer on December 28, 2022 at the age of 51.  Mindy looked forward to joining her grandparents Gabriel and Natividad Morales, as the first grandchild she was Grandpa’s favorite, as well as her good friend and confidant Nancy Eastlund in Heaven.

Mindy was born on December 14, 1971  in Las Cruces, NM to her mother Ellie Sanchez and father Elias Vizcaíno.  Mindy was raised in Las Cruces, NM with her two siblings Debra and Norberto.  Mindy had 3 children Deï, Angel Joseph (AJ) and Peter Joel (PJ).  Mindy moved to Rawlins, Wyoming where she met and married Virgil Williams on July 1, 2007.  She worked tirelessly to give all of her boys the best and wouldn’t stop at the moon.  Mindy studied hard and earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration.  Her credible work ethic lead to many job opportunities from owning a janitorial service to hospitality management.  She was one of a kind; a comedic and wise woman.  Those who truly knew her will cherish her friendship forever.  She was very proud of her children in their accomplishments and athletics.

Mindy was a Spanish translator and loved helping the ESL community in Rawlins, even teaching bilingual classes.  Mindy was a server for 20+ years and was a huge people person.  She loved to cook and hoped to someday run a catering business.  Family and friends can attest to her culinary skills as they all enjoyed food cooked by her often.  She owned and operated Brain Freez, a summer-time shaved ice and snack truck.

Mindy will be lovingly remembered by her children David "Deï" Vizcaíno, AJ Vizcaíno, PJ Serna, bonus stepsons Nathanial and Troy Williams,  mother Ellie (Mike) Sanchez and siblings Debra Sanchez (brother-in-law Marlo Sanchez), Norberto (Jessica) Vizcaíno, and Peter (Kim) Serna.  She will also be fondly remembered by granddaughters Zayna, Jazzmin, and Azayla, grandsons Silas and Lincoln,  nieces and nephews Marlene (Paul), Alex, Vincent, Ellyana, Emalyn, Santiago, great niece Cece,  and many extended family and friends.

Mindy would want close ones safe at home so a celebration of life will be held at a later date due to inclement weather conditions.
