Obituary of Myrtle Ellen Koder

Myrtle Ellen (Ulrey) Koder
On September 1, 1940 in Colby, Kansas, Myrtle Ellen was born to Arthur and Nora (Forbes) Ulrey; the
youngest of their nine children. On January 4, 2023 at her home in Greeley, Colorado she was
peacefully reunited with all of them in the kingdom of Heaven.

Mert, as her friends called her, believed in God. It was through her conversations with God, her fighting
spirit, her family, and the love and support of her church, that we were all blessed to be a part of her life
during her 82 years. She relished the opportunity to spend time with her immediate family, which also
included members from her eight siblings, and the family of her husband Richard. She enjoyed playing
host for family gatherings. She loved her step children and step grandchildren with her whole heart.
Adding to her family were the children that Mert cared for during her years as a daycare provider. They
were always part of her heart.

Mert’s friendships were as important as her family. Her adventures with Lydia Griffiths always put a
sparkly in her eye, and brought out her mischief spirit. She relished this friendship. She was also
blessed to have Don and Juanita Lamborn as a part of her life. This was a friendship she cherished.
There were so many more friends that were a part of her life and heart, and we are sorry to not have all
of their names to personally thank.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Koder; sons Dale Gesick and Darrell Gesick, and three
grandchildren Chauntelle, Corey, and Casey. She is survived by her sons Stephen Gesick, and Brian
Goebel; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all who were a part of Mert’s life.
John 11:25-26 “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.”
