Kristine Flynn

Obituary of Kristine Flynn

Kristine Carol (Kearns) Flynn, 57, of Johnstown, Colorado, passed away on February 4, 2023, in her home alongside her loving family.

Kristine was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 7, 1965 to Thomas and Charlotte (Pritzen) Kearns. The middle of three children, you can imagine there was never a dull moment at home.

In 1983 she graduated high school and attended Northern Illinois University, where she got her degree in accounting and went on to work as a financial Analyst then continued to get her CPA. It is safe to say that she was extremely intelligent, but that wasn’t the only trait that got her to be successful in her career. Her creativity and great organizational skills along with her hard work and determination played a big part as well.

“Beautiful” that was Richard Flynn’s first impression of Kristine the day he saw her at Tommy’s, a night out that changed everything for both. They were married not long after, on February 29, 1992. This month they would be celebrating 31 beautiful years of marriage. It wasn’t just her creativity or intelligence that made Kristine a beautiful person. She was compassionate, supporting, loving and caring, funny, thoughtful. These are all words that fit perfectly when describing Kristine and what made her so lovable.

In 1993 Richard and Kristine welcomed their daughter, Kaitlin and three short years later their son Ryan. She was an incredible mother, always dedicated to her family. She loved to go to her children’s games, from football to baseball for her son Ryan and basketball to softball for her daughter Kaitlin. Her family could always count on her to be there for them, supporting them no matter what.

Although her family was always her main priority, she still found time to stay connected to other parts of herself, starting by always keeping in touch with her loving sorority sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon, her love for reading and learning Spanish. She loved to visit Mexico, sometimes multiple times a year. How she loved Mexico! You could also find her reading a good James Patterson book or simply relaxing and watching a good episode of Friends. No matter what she was doing, she did it with passion.

It isn’t hard to see the person that Kristine was. A loving wife, mother, and friend. A caring sister and daughter. She will be deeply missed.

Kristine is survived by her husband Richard Flynn, two children Kaitlin and Ryan Flynn, her brother Tom and sister in law Alice Kearns, her sister Diane and brother in law Eric Webb and her father Thomas Kearns. She is preceded in death by her mother Charlotte (Pritzen) Kearns.
