Obituary of Daryl Wayne Urich

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Daryl Wayne Urich on February 24, 2023, at the UC Health Greeley Hospital, at the age of 61.

Daryl was born in Greeley, CO, on May 29, 1961, to Oren and Dorothy (Schnorr) Urich. He spent his childhood on a dairy farm east of Pierce and attended Highland School. In 1975, the family moved to Windsor, where Daryl graduated from Windsor High School in 1979. Daryl was a proud member of the football team for four years and contributed to the team's State Championship win. He was recognized as an All-Conference Lineman, a testament to his hard work and dedication.

In his early years, Daryl painted classic cars at The Carriage Shop in Fort Collins.  Over the course of his life, Daryl pursued various careers, but the one he was most proud of was owning a video rental store known as Wellington Video. He later worked at Anheuser-Busch, where he recently celebrated 32 years of service. Daryl was an incredibly hard worker who worked tirelessly to provide for his family.

Daryl met the love of his life, Betty, and they married on October 18, 1997. With their union, Daryl welcomed Betty's daughter, Leigh Ann, into his life and loved her as his own. Daryl's family was his greatest love, and he devoted his life to their care. Daryl also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Broncos fan.

Daryl's legacy will live on through his family, who will remember him as a kind, generous, and loving man who always put others before himself. He had a heart of gold, and his unwavering dedication to his loved ones was a true testament to the kind of person he was. 

Daryl's memory will be forever treasured by his daughter Leigh Ann (Sean) Grey, his two grandchildren Hunter and Teren Grey, his sister Cathy (Gary) Dahlgren, his brother Gary (Rhonda) Urich, brother-in-law Mark (Rhonda) Brown and several nieces and nephews. Daryl was preceded in death by his wife Betty Urich, his parents Oren and Dorothy Urich, and his brother Randy Urich. 

Daryl’s Life Celebration will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 1525 43rd Ave, Greeley with a reception to follow.
