Margaret, Liz, James and Ryan, Gustavo and I are so sorry for your loss, Clayton was a wonderful person. He cared for my Grandma and Uncle Clyde, for my mom, and for his dad and so many more people. He was the salt of the earth. We were remembering the time you came to Mexico, Liz and James, with your dad and the Spanish exchange student. Clayton had said when he got here that he planned to come down sometime on his motorcycle. Then Gustavo loaned him a car so you could all go to Acapulco. After being in the traffic driving, he decided maybe he wouldn't come on his bike. But he never blinked about getting behind the wheel! And Margaret, we'll always remember you and Clayton's kind hospitality to have us for Thanksgiving when mom was at the end. It was comforting. Ryan, I don't have many recollections about you except the time you fell off the fence between your mom and Clayton's house and I seem to remember you broke your arm. Heavens--an eternity ago. Everyone has such vivid memories of Clayton that he will live forever. Receive heartfelt hugs from us. Shauna and Gustavo Corona

In the 47 years of our friendship Clay always proved to be a solid friend such as the time when my truck broke down at his homestead ranch and he gave me a ride home. The next, day with tools and repair parts we headed back out to the ranch when, somewhere around New Raymer, I discovered that I had forgotten the keys to the truck. Now Clay gave me a look like "you moron" as he turned the car around and we headed back to Greeley laughing and carrying on all the way. We returned to the ranch with tools, repair parts and keys in hand, but Clay never mentioned the incident again. It was part of our game of acknowledging each other's idiosyncrasies and laughing about it that made our friendship so strong.
He certainly was a true friend.

We know he is spreading sunshine throughout the heavens for all to see, just as he did here on earth. May you find peace in that, until we meet in our friendship again.
