Obituary of Michelle R. Gray

Michelle R. Gray, 54, of Greeley passed away March 17, 2023.  Michelle was born September 5, 1968 to Ronald A. and Carol L. (Sutton) Plonkey.  Her father, Ron Plonkey, passed away when Michelle was 15 months old.  Her mother later remarried and Michelle was adopted by Ronald D. Reynolds.  She grew up in Pueblo and Aurora, Colorado. She graduated from Smoky Hill High School in 1987.  She received her Associate Degree from Aurora Community College in 1999.  Michelle married Thomas V. Gray on June 7, 1997 in Aurora.

Michelle was a caregiver by nature.  She worked for Promise Keepers, Adaptive Automotive, was a PERA for Franklin Middle School, and for Home Instead Senior Care.  She also was a foster parent for 17 years.  Michelle was a member of First Christian Church in Greeley and FAFLC—Foster and Adoptive Families of Larimer County.  She loved to travel, especially trips to Vail and taking cruises.

Michelle is survived by her mother, Carol Reynolds; her husband Thomas Gray of Greeley; children, Porschia Spalding and husband Derek of Lochbuie, Colorado, Taylor Gray, Isaiah Gray, and Marshall Gray all of Greeley; her grandson Malikai Allen Spalding; and her brother Bret D. Reynolds of the Dominican Republic. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronny Gray in 2007, her father’s, and grandparents.

A Life Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at First Christian Church.  Inurnment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
