Obituary of Beverly June Richter

Beverly June (Mortimer) Richter, 83, of Greeley Colorado passed away Saturday April 01, 2023, at Grace Pointe Senior Care Community in Greeley, Colorado after a bout with dementia and a recent stroke. Beverly was born May 14, 1939, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she was the only child to Hazel Mae (Graver) Mortimer and Earl Ritchie Mortimer who both preceded her in death.

Beverly married Brent A. Richter June 2, 1963, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Beverly is also survived by her son, Brent A. Richter, Jr. (Teresa) of New Bremen, Ohio; and daughter Beth A. Richter Alem (Houssine) of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren Alexis A. Brackman (Scott) and Hayden R. Richter both of New Bremen, Ohio; and great grandson Brooks L. Brackman of New Bremen, Ohio.

Beverly worked for her father at his American Grocery Store in Denver, Pennsylvania and later at Earl and Hazel's (Mort & Morty) Hiawatha Inn located in Manheim, Pennsylvania. Brent, Bev and family moved to Pratt, Kansas in 1970 where Bev worked at Kinton's Restaurant, The Uptown Cafe and later opened her own woman's clothing store, Fashion Crossroads. In 1995 Brent and Bev moved to Greeley, Colorado where they both became active in Assistance League of Greeley, Bargain Box and Houston Gardens. Bev enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling all over the United States and the world, cruises, dining at fine restaurants, and spending winters at their home in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

A viewing will be held Monday April 10, 2023, 2:00pm MDT at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80634, (970) 353-1212.  An additional viewing will be held on Friday April 14th at 1:00 pm with service to follow at 2:00pm at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata, Pennsylvania 17522, (717) 733-2472. Interment will be held the same day, Friday April 14th at 3:00 pm at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 531 North State Street, Ephrata, Pennsylvania 17522.
