Obituary of Antonio Sanchez Salazar
Antonio Sanchez Salazar Jr. passed away Friday March 31,2023. Tony was born on January 22, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Maria Anna Sanchez and Antonio Salazar. On August 6, 1988, he married Olga Marroquin and soon after they started a family of their own. Tony was a committed family man, he loved and cared for his wife and children always doing his best to be the best father he could be. He loved his dogs, western movies, and singing and playing his guitar. He had a passion for sports, especially baseball and the Denver broncos. If he wasn’t in the back yard barbecuing with a lemon in his hand, you could find him freely driving in his mustang, at a fast speed. He loved to live life! If he was at home, you could be sure to find him in the kitchen making his famous flour tortillas listening to his favorite singer Antonio Aguilar or watching his favorite actor, John Wayne. Tony had many friends in Greeley and the surrounding area, making friends wasn’t hard for him, he would make friends wherever he went. He was known for his great sense of humor and very distinctive laugh. He will truly be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, his daughter Theresa Salazar, daughter Connie Arteaga, daughter Michelle (Tony) Vieyra, sons Ruben and Richard Salazar, daughter Amanda Salazar (Charles Espinoza), and daughter Amy Salazar. His brother George (Nollie) Salazar, brother Irineo Salazar, Sister Santos (Jaime) Garcia, brother Ruben (Eufemia) Salazar, sister Florinda Grego, sister Mariana Dolores Salazar, and sister Blanca (Raul) Sanchez, along with 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Antonio Salazar Jr and son Antonio Juan Salazar, sister San Juana Benavides, Guadalupe Guillain, Rosa Maria Webb.
A public viewing will be held on Monday April 17, 2023, at Adamson Life Celebration Home, from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
A Life Celebration will be held Tuesday April 18, 2023, at Faith Bible Baptist Church at 11:00am. Burial will follow for anyone who wants to attend after service at Linn Grove Cemetery.
