Jesus Sandoval

Obituary of Jesus M. Sandoval

It is with a very heavy heart that the family of Jesus Maria Sandoval announces his passing on April 13th, 2023, at the age of 90 years.  He passed away peacefully at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado, surrounded by his 3 children.

He will be remembered as an amazing Father, Grandfather and a man of great integrity, humility and kindness for the less fortunate. He demonstrated those values by always providing for his family, living a modest life and being charitable for those in need.

Jesus was born on April 2, 1933, to Jesus Sandoval and Cleofitas Medina of San Juan, Balleza, Mexico.  He grew up in San Juan and as a young boy, he handmade tops to sell for profit. During his teenage years, he also taught himself to play the guitar.  As a young adult, he ventured out into the world in search of a better life.  In 1954, he joined the United States Bracero Program where he worked as a laborer in various locations including , New Mexico, Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado and Montana.  He later gained his U.S. residency and met the love of his life Elva Sandoval from San Esteban Balleza, Mexico.  They were married in 1960 and eventually started a family in Carlsbad New Mexico.  In 1970, he moved to the colorful state of Colorado where he raised his family.

Jesus overcame the odds of a poor kid from a small village in Mexico and lived a long, wonderful life in the U.S. Some of Jesus’s hobbies included:  playing the guitar with his buddies. Building things, home improvement projects.  He also mastered some amazing cooking skills that included his famous red chili(Asado), tamales, fresh salsas and Menudo.  He loved listening to his favorite music on Saturday mornings. Any time he made trips to Mexico, he made sure to take his extended family clothing and other key necessities.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Claire Rogers(Nick Rogers), his sons Aldo Sandoval(Manuel Vasquez) and Ivan Sandoval(Juanita Puga); 8 grandchildren Joseph, Jenny, Mark, Samantha, Natalie and Justin Rogers, Courtney and Gavin Sandoval; 5 great-grandchildren Evelyn, Alric, Callum, Olivia and Jackson Rogers.

"In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”-- 1 Peter 5:5
