Obituary of Jane Hill

Marah Jane Hill, 90, of Johnstown passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023 at her daughter, Jan’s home after suffering with Alzheimer’s for several years.  She was born August 10, 1932 in Dallas, TX to Frank and Marah Jane (Rumsey) McWethy.  The family moved to Pitcher, OK when Jane was young, eventually locating to Granby, MO where she graduated from high school.

She later went on to attend Junior College in Joplin, MO.  She met Edwin Durham Hill and they were later married on March 29, 1953 in Neosho, MO.  They moved to Littleton, Colorado in 1960 and later settled in Johnstown, Colorado in the early 1970’s. 

Jane was a wife and loving mother, dedicating herself toward the care of her six children and creating a home environment in which her family would flourish.  She volunteered with the Altar and Rosary Society at All Soul’s Church in Englewood and also belonged to the Garden Club while living in Littleton.  They were members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown where she was active in catechism, volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years and belonged to Bridge card clubs wherever they lived.  She loved to read, sew, collect rocks and watch birds. 

Survivors include her children; Judy (Dave Huckins) Hill, Janice (Mario) Herrera, Jeff (Renea) Hill, Jim (Nicole) Hill, Joan (Brian) Krayenhagen and John (Julia) Hill, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and expecting another great-great grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

Jane’s family will have a private family service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown.  Inurnment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  Memorial gifts may be made to “St. John the Baptist Catholic Church” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.  Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com.
