Obituary of Susan Leigh Sewald

Susan “Susi” Leigh Sewald passed away suddenly on May 9, 2023 in Greeley.  She was born March 4, 1948 in Centralia, Illinois to Robert and Bobbie Sue (Reeder) Keene and grew up in Pinckneyville, IL.  She graduated from Santa Maria High School in California in 1966. 

The family later moved to Santa Barbara, CA and she then followed her mother to Colorado, settling in Greeley.  She worked in accounting and as an executive secretary to WD Farr, Colorado Sugar Beet Growers Association and the Farr Farms at the Chase Bank building.

Susi married James Raymond Sewald in Las Vegas in 1989.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, water color pencil art but most enjoyed time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Jim, daughter, Staci (Al) Falcon, stepson, Bryan Sewald, three grandchildren; Ashley (Tyler) DeLaFuente , Sydney Bunting and Mariah Bunting, four great-grandchildren; Knoxx Bunting, Quinnly, Ava and Avery DeLaFuente and her beloved dog, Taz. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a stepson, Tracy Sewald, her sister, Michelle Keene and her brother, Edward Keene.

Susi’s Life Celebration will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Adamson.  Memorial gifts may be made to “Mill Dog Rescue” or “Weld County Humane Society” in care of Adamson, 2000 47^th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.  Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
