Obituary of Nancy Corinne Broemsen

Nancy (Roy) Broemsen of Windsor, CO passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. Nancy faced various health issues, including kidney failure, that eventually took her life.

Nancy was born November 1, 1950 to Reverend Emery and Corinne Roy. She was born in Chicago, IL. Throughout her childhood the family lived in several towns in Nebraska and Wyoming, as her father was a presbyterian minister. She graduated from high school in Cheyenne, Wyoming and attended Hastings College in Hastings Nebraska majoring in music and education. Upon graduating from college, she moved to Fargo North Dakota and started her lifelong successful career working for the Mercantile store in Fargo. She was soon transferred to the Joslin’s (Mercantile) stores in Denver. She was an intimate apparel buyer for Joslin’s for many years and traveled to New York frequently for buying trips. In 1994, she moved to Cincinnati Ohio to join the Mercantile corporate office as a planner. Upon leaving Mercantile, after they were bought out, she continued er retail career in Knoxville Tennessee, Dayton Ohio, York Pennsylvania, and finally Waukesha Wisconsin where she worked for Elder Beerman and Bon Ton.

In August of 2009 Nancy married Larry Broemsen in Estes Park, Colorado. After her retirement they moved to Greeley Colorado where they lived until January 2023 when they moved to Windsor to a home that was easier for Nancy to maneuver.

During her retirement Nancy honed her Bridge playing skills and played in ladies and couples’ groups in Greeley every chance she got. Nancy also loved her cats and often had 1 if not 2 cats that she spoiled.\

Nancy is survived by her husband Larry Broemsen of Windsor CO and sisters, Kathy (Sheldon) Maier of Helena MT and Jan Roy and Fred Horn of Tuscaloosa, AL. She is survived by numerous friends in the many cities she resided in, as well as Axel, her beloved kitty who brought her much joy! Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services are planned at Adamson Life Celebration Home on Tuesday, May 16th.
