Obituary of Daen Eve Scott

Daen Eve Scott, 43, of Johnstown passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2023 at her home.  She was born January 22, 1980 in Bozeman, MT to Danny Frederick and Kristen Sara (Holje) Rasmussen.

As a child, her family moved from Montana to Idaho, Oregon, South Dakota and California. In 1997, she graduated  from Custer County District High School in Miles City, MT and went on to Montana State University, before transferring to University of New Mexico-Albuquerque and graduating with a bachelor of Arts in theater. Daen received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Otterbein College in Worthington, Ohio in 2010 and then went on to earn a Masters in Nursing from Montana State University in 2012. She was working on her PhD.

For 11 years, Daen worked as a Nurse Practitioner and since August, 2022 was teaching at a nursing school. Her specialty was Endocrinology and she valued helping others manage their diabetes.

Married to Jeremy Scott for almost 23 years, they met in high school and lived in Ohio, New Mexico, and Montana before moving to Colorado. They supported each other through long nights studying, career transitions, and many moves, always laughing through the hard times. When Gavin arrived in 2005 and Vivianne in 2010, the family enjoyed vacations, movies and playing board games - Daen always beat everyone at Scrabble.

Daen loved trying new hobbies and had a lifelong love of crafting, music and singing. An avid reader, she loved Harry Potter and made sure everyone in the family knew which House they belonged to. A true Ravenclaw, Daen was known for her cleverness, wit, wisdom, intellectual ability, and creativity.

A huge Disney fan, she was known for riding the fastest rides at Disneyland. She also loved to run 5Ks and 10Ks with her friends and family. She was instrumental in the puppet ministry at the Johnstown United Methodist Church with her husband and was currently writing a book from the scripts and characters she created for that ministry.

She was a member of the American Diabetes Association, Diabetes Education groups and the Johnstown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Pastor Jeremy Scott, children Gavin and Vivianne, her mother, Kris Rasmussen, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.
