Obituary of Sandra Kaye Duran

Sandra K. Duran, 79, of Greeley, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at UCHealth Greeley Hospital. She was born February 29, 1944 in Moline, Illinois to John Matthew and Katherine Louise (Brodine) Grchan. Sandra moved to Sunset Beach, CA with her family when she was a toddler. She was raised in the area and graduated from Phineas Banning High School in Wilmington, CA in 1962. Sandra moved to Greeley in 1972 where she worked as an accountant for Super Saver Drug and Preferred Home Health Care for many years, and never missed a payroll in over 40 years. She furthered her education and received her associates degree in Accounting from Aims Community College and her bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of Northern Colorado in 1996. Sandra was a long-time member of Christ Community Church. She loved gardening, traveling, volleyball, softball and sailing. She was also a survivor of cancer for 20 years. She is survived by her companion of 35 years, Robert Lopez of Greeley; her sons, John L. Duran and wife Claire of Greeley and Darren L. Duran of Eaton; her brother John P. Grchan and wife Carolyn of Loveland; her grandchildren, Treyten Duran, Braxten Duran, and Colten Pehringer all of Eaton and Noah Hull of Texas and Caleb Hull of Greeley; and her beloved cat, Spicey. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her step-father, Stan Stanford and her step-mother Sally Grchan. A visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Adamson Life Celebration Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Christ Community Church. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
