Obituary of Geoffrey Don Runyan

Geoffrey Don Runyan, 81, of Greeley passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his home.  He was born September 12, 1942 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Don and LaVerne (Minter) Runyan.  He moved to the Denver area as a child and graduated from North High School.  Jeff served in the United States Army from 1967-1973.  He married Donna Kellenbenz in 1971 and they raised their family in Thornton, Colorado.  He worked as a mechanical Engineer at Auto Trol, May Manufacturing and Mobile Tool during his career.  He was a small aircraft pilot and loved electronics and the latest and greatest.  He was of member of NRA, the American Legion, GI Eleven and the Travelaires motorcycle club.

Jeff is survived by his son Ross Lawson and wife Christy of Commerce City, CO and Wendy McSwain of Greeley, CO; his grandchildren,  Cody and Ryan McSwain of Greeley, Lexi Runyan of Kansas and Kaitlynn Lawson of Commerce City; his great-granddaughter, Megan McSwain and many step grandchildren and great-grandgrandchildren; and his siblings Robert Runyan and wife Verona of Berthoud, William Runyan of Florida and Sandra Bowlin and husband Dave of Arizona.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Donna and his son, Adam Runyan.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. prompt, Monday, November 20, 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery (staging area C).  Celebration of Life will be following the cemetery at Cheddars 10250 Grant St.,Thornton, CO 80229 From 12:00-2:00pm please rsvp with Christy Lawson 303-304-2322.
