Obituary of Marcus David Mahaffey

Marcus David Mahaffey was born in Greeley, Colorado on January 19, 1996, to Lorraine Salazar and Randy Mahaffey.  Marcus attended school at University Schools and graduated from Greeley West High School. 

Marcus passed from this life to be with his beloved mother on November 11, 2023.  Throughout his life, Marcus was passionate about hockey, live music, golf, baseball, skateboarding, tech decking, paddleboarding, and working out.  Marcus recently was an HVAC Technician and was attending school to advance in this career field.  In addition to his HVAC career, Marcus was most passionate about being the manager of his sober living house and he dedicated his life to helping others with their journey in recovery. 

Marcus was a loyal, loving, hardworking, hilarious, compassionate, caring, selfless, grateful, humble, full of pure love, authentic, and genuine soul.  He lit up every room with his charming looks and goof ball personality.  He was the best uncle in the entire world, and his nephew and niece adored him.  Marcus’ unconditional love and commitment to his family and friends will forever be cherished. 

Marcus was preceded in death by his loving mother, Lorraine Salazar, his grandmother Jane Gustafson, his grandfather Arthur Salazar, his grandfather Ronald Mahaffey, and his Uncle James Salazar.  

Marcus is survived by his father, Randy Mahaffey of Greeley; grandmother and grandfather, Charlie and Sally Drewer of Evans; sister and brother-in-law, Lindsey and David Cerullo of Castle Pines; sister, Mariya Rocha of Saint Augustine; brother, Randall Mahaffey of Castle Rock; nephew, Bennett Cerullo; niece, Mila Rocha; uncle Arthur Salazar (Micaela); uncle Ron Mahaffey (Tammy); uncle Billy Salazar (Rachel); aunt, Tina Tighe; uncle, Michael Salazar; and Best Friend, Nate Denning; as well as a large and loving extended circle of family and friends.

A Life Celebration for Marcus will be held at 10:30 AM, on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Zoe’s Café and Events, 715 10^th Street, Greeley, followed by a reception.  Inurnment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 West 28^th Street, Greeley.
