Janice, born on June 24th, 1938, passed away on December 17th, 2023 in Greeley, CO.   She was the beloved daughter of Carl Oscar Anderson and Janet Coralyn Williams Anderson.

Janice commenced her education in Brush, CO culminating in her graduation in 1957 in Loveland, CO.  After earning a teaching degree from Evangel College in Springfield, MO, she taught briefly in Roseville, IL before discovering her true calling.  Janice dedicated approximately 35 years as a program coordinator at Schaefer Enterprises in Greeley, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities until her well deserved retirement.

On August 18, 1963, Janice married Thomas Lee Groom in Loveland, CO.  Janice was proceeded in death by her husband, Tom on December 5th, 2009.  Together they raised two children, Eric Allen Groom (Deceased) of Cheyenne, WY and Julia Suzanne Groom Dimmitt and husband Tracy of Greeley, CO.

Janice’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Brooke Thornton (wife Edwina White), Jackson Dimmitt (Allessandra), Thaine Seaman, (wife Kalena) Samantha Pacheco (husband Jorge) and her great grandchildren, Graysen Thornton, Kayvyon White, Kimmie Pacheco, Monica Pacheco, Estrella Pacheco, Gaije Seaman and Kulen Seaman.

Jan was a devoted member of St. Albans Episcopal Church in Windsor, CO and found joy singing in the choir and serving her community.  She leaves behind many cherished friendships within the congregation.

Janice was called by many names – Janice, Jan, Yanice Yune, Mama, Little Lady, Gigi, Itty Bitty Pretty Lady, Old Woman, but most importantly, she was known as Friend.  She loved fiercely and if you were lucky enough to be in her circle, you felt that immensely.  May her compassionate spirit and enduring love be a source of comfort to all who knew her.  I’m going to miss you Mama, but I will see you again.  Give ‘em hell.

A memorial service and reception will be held at 10:30 a.m. on January 6th, 2024 at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Windsor, CO.
