Obituary of Jonah Mitchell Ferrara

Jonah Ferrara, 25, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2023.

Jonah was born in Greeley, Colorado on July 26, 1998. He attended Greeley Central High School, where he ran on the cross-country team, and was a home school graduate. Jonah went on to attend Colorado State University, where he was a member of the Center for Public Deliberation (CPD), graduating with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Jonah was passionate about the mission of CPD and aspired to bring his experience there into a career as a teacher. Jonah was planning to start working for Teach for America in the spring of 2024 while pursuing a master’s degree in Education.

From a young age, Jonah was a voracious reader and was always ready with a book recommendation. He loved the outdoors and was on his way to climbing all of Colorado’s 14ers. His love of the outdoors and commitment to hard work led him to spend this past summer working for the Larimer County Conservation Corps as a crew lead.

Jonah is survived and remembered with great love by his family, parents Sandy Hamilton and Daro Ferrara, siblings Sean Holloway (and nephew Lukas), Sarah Ferrara (Sal Fruciano), Seth Ferrara (Juniper Ferrara and nieces Athena and Roslyn), Sam Ferrara (Rebecca Loupe), grandmother Kaye Hamilton, Uncle and Aunt Bruce and Marianne Hamilton (and cousins John and Grace). Jonah was preceded in death by his grandfather, Brian Hamilton. Jonah was a much beloved member of his community and is also remembered and loved by many dear friends.
