Obituary of Denise Elizabeth Rutt

After a short battle with cancer, Denise Elizabeth Rutt, age 49, passed away on January 18, 2024, with her family by her side.  She leaves behind her two loving children, Dustin Rutt and Desirae Lowe; and one very precious granddaughter, Serayah Marie Slade. 

Denise was born June 4, 1974, in Poughkeepsie, New York, to father Dennis Lemmon Sr. and mother Barbara Budzinski DeCamp.  She was the baby of the family and grew up with one sister and two brothers.  She grew up in Colorado and graduated from Berthoud High School.  In 1998, Denise married Eddie Rutt and they raised two children.  During that time, Denise went back to school to become a hairdresser and worked for over 20 years, respected by her peers and her many clients throughout Northern Colorado.  She was a friend to so many people in her life and she will be missed by many.

“Of all the special gifts in life, however great or small, to have you as our mom and friend was the greatest gift of all.  May the winds of love blow softly and whisper in your ear, ‘We love and miss you and wish that you were here.’ Deep in our hearts, your life is kept to love and cherish, not forget.  No more tomorrows we can share, but yesterdays are always there.  A silent thought, a secret tear keeps your memory ever near in our hearts forever.  Goodbyes are not forever, nor are they the end.  They simply mean we’ll miss you until we meet again.”

Denise was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She is survived by her two loving children, Dustin Rutt and Desirae Lowe (Spencer) and one granddaughter, Serayah Marie; as well as her parents Dennis Lemmon and Barbara DeCamp (Chuck); a sister Michelle Shaw; two brothers Keith Lemmon (Tara), and Dennis Lemmon Jr. (Jennifer).  We all loved and adored Denise and will miss her laughter and kind heart.    

A special thank you to the people at UCHealth of Greeley for their loving care and support during her final days.  Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Pathways and Adamson Life Celebration Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Adamson Life Celebration Home in Greeley, Colorado on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
