Obituary of Marge Goetzel
Marjorie Ann (Marge) Goetzel of Greeley passed away in her sleep early in the morning of Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was 85. Marge was born Marjorie Harris on May 14, 1938 to Walter L. and Eva (Redman) Harris. She lived her entire life in northern Colorado.
On July 14, 1956, she married Robert Goetzel; they were married 63 years before he passed in 2019.
Marge was primarily a homemaker, but over the years also worked as a baker, a real estate agent, and as a lab technician at the Great Western sugar beet factories in Eaton and Greeley. She was an excellent cook and a skilled baker. She made wonderful food—and always enough to send home with her children and grandchildren.
Marge was an outstanding woman with a huge heart for her family. She will be missed dearly by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Michael Goetzel of Pierce; her daughter, Linda Quist of Greeley and her husband Michael; her sister, Myrt Mesmer of Odgen, Utah and her husband Keith; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Goetzel; two brothers, Walter Herbert Harris and James Donald Harris; and a daughter-in-law, Luann Goetzel.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Life Celebration 11:00a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Adamson. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
