Obituary of Pat Fankell

Patricia Anne Fankell, 83, of Greeley passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at North Colorado Medical Center.  She was born April 8, 1940 in Johnstown, Colorado to Fred Heil and Esther (Stroman) Heil.  Pat grew up in Johnstown and graduated from Mead High School in 1958.  She married Kenneth Fankell on June 25, 1979 in Greeley, CO, he passed away November 27, 2003.  Pat worked for Great Western Sugar Company in Longmont for many years, drove a school bus in Berthoud and worked in Medical Records at North Colorado Medical Center for over 30 years.  She enjoyed working puzzles on the computer, riding motorcycles, gardening, keeping a clean home and rides in her PT Cruiser, she also enjoyed going to lunch once a month to keep up with all the gossip with her dear friends.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Denine Furney (Kevin) of Greeley and Shelly Hatton of Greeley; her grandchildren, Kimberly McMurray (Ryan) of Greeley, McKenzie Schafer (Nic) of Sparks, Nevada, Courtney Froman of Cheyenne, WY, Mariah Medbery (Troy) of Greeley and Brisco Schaub (Miranda) of Greeley; 5 great-grandchildren; Ameilia, Elyana, Hadley, Riley and Asher; her brothers, Douglas Heil (Leila) of Cheyenne and Kenneth Heil (Louise) of California; and her significant other, Donnie Byargeon of Greeley and also many nieces and nephews.  She was proceeded in death by her parents Fred and Esther Heil; husband, Kenneth Fankell; her son, Scott Harold Furney; brother, Marvin Heil; and her beloved Chihuahua, Peanut.

She will be so missed by all.  She was an amazing Mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

An open house in her honor will be held at 12:00p.m., Monday, April 8, 2024 at her home.
