Betty Bunker

Obituary of Betty Jean Bunker

Betty Jean Bunker (1932-2024)

Betty Jean Bunker, 91, of Greeley, Colorado, died peacefully at her home in Greeley on January 10, 2024.  Betty was born in Hays, Kansas on April 21, 1932, to Charles and Eva (Harman) Baker and grew up on her family’s wheat farm north of Hays with her sister, two brothers, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In 1950, Betty graduated from Hays High School, married Edward J. Bunker, and moved to Greeley where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward (in 2003), her son James Bunker (in 2010) and her son-in-law Garrot Conn (in 2018).

Betty is survived by her daughter Cynthia A. (Bunker) Conn (Lincoln, NE) and son Gregory E. Bunker and wife, Beverly (Centennial, CO), her granddaughters, Elizabeth Bunker (Charlotte, NC) and Alexandria Bunker (Charlotte, NC), her sister JoAnn Koerner (Hays, KS), and brother William Baker (Upton, WY).

Betty’s number one priority was always her family.  She greatly enjoyed cooking, in particular, baking with her granddaughters, gardening, spending time with her family, and playing bridge with her friends.

Services will be announced at a later date with final inturnment at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty’s memory to:
