Obituary of Rex Rickert

Rex Rickert, 77, of Greeley passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at his home in Greeley.  He was born March 2, 1946 in  Corydon, Iowa to Dean and Ila (Coffey) Rickert.  Rex grew up in Humeston, Iowa and graduated from Mormon Trail High School in 1964 where he was very active in sports, including playing football for a team that never lost a game.  He served in the United States Army from January 1966 until January 1968 and was in Vietnam for a year.   On April 6, 1966 he married Diane Goodell in Longmont, CO.  Rex worked for Montgomery Ward in the automotive department as a salesman for 19 years in the Boulder and Greeley area.  He then worked for Eastman Kodak in the film department for 23 years before he retired.  He attended CornerStone Baptist Church in Windsor.  Rex loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He had a passion for older cars and loved all sports.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Rickert of Greeley; his sons, Travis Rickert and wife Shannon of Kingston, Washington, Trevor Rickert and wife Maggie of Severance, Colorado and Trorie Rickert and wife Alli of New Castle, Colorado; his grandchildren, Caleb Rickert, Blue Rickert, Ben Hardin, Katreena Robinson, Danielle Johnson, Alexandria Harrington, Meranda Robertson, Titus Rickert, Bram Rickert, Chevonne Rickert, Rowyn Rickert and Lennox Rickert; 14 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Dale Rickert of Corydon, Iowa and Wayne Rickert and wife Sonny of Lancaster, California.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Ila Rickert, a grandson, Zackery Rickert, and siblings, James Rickert, Larry Rickert and Sherry Housley.

A Life Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2024 at Adamson Life Celebration Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 W. 47^th Ave., Greeley, CO  80634.
