Obituary of Stanley Wayne Bouse

Stanley Wayne Bouse, 78, of Ault, died unexpectedly at his home on January 25, 2024 after a double knee replacement surgery.  He was born March 2, 1945 in Dodge City, KS to George Maurice and Florence (Reed) Bouse. 

Stan graduated from College High and received a swimming scholarship to college.  He served in the U.S. Navy four years before receiving his honorable discharge.  He served on the LaSalle Volunteer Fire Department, worked for DCS Construction in LaSalle, was a farrier for many years, owned and operated Bouse Excavating, and worked for Enviro Check.  Stan was currently employed with Rocky Mountain Excavating, now Elite Surface Infrastructure for 16 years, getting ready to retire at the end of February. 

He enjoyed hunting, riding horses, camping, welding figures from horseshoes and traveling/camping in their 5th-wheel trailer. 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, his daughters Sindi Hammer and Stacie Luersen, grandchildren; John, Garrett, Kalen and Brenli Hammer, Jacoby Bouse-Luersen and Taylor Luersen, Barbara’s sons; Ed (Jeannie) Farrington and their children Courtney and Emiley, Kelly (and fiancé Rosemary) Farrington and his children Anthony and Nalena. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandra Bouse Asher.

The family will host the Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Island Grove Bunk House.  Military honors will begin at 1:30 p.m.
